Computational Modeling Scientist

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) is looking for junior and senior scientists to join the DoD Biotechnology High Performance Computing Software Applications Institute (BHSAI) [http://bhsai.org/]. The BHSAI, located in Frederick, Maryland, performs computational modeling research to help develop biomedical solutions for our Soldiers. HJF provides scientific, technical, and programmatic support services to the BHSAI.  

This opening is for dynamic scientists with a Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, or related physical-science discipline interested in working in an interdisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and apply computational solutions to biomedical problems, involving signal processing of time-series data; image analysis; data mining; data-driven-, phenomenological- or first-principles-based modeling; and artificial intelligence. Experience in physiological modeling is a plus. 
2. Knowledge of MATLAB and associated toolboxes is required.
3. Work simultaneously on multiple projects, involving a diverse and interdisciplinary team of scientists across multiple laboratories.
4. Prepare research proposals, progress reports, and manuscripts for submission to scientific journals.
5. Present research methods and findings at appropriate scientific conferences.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. in a related discipline, extensive computational experience, and a strong publication record.
