International Business Career Development Program (IBCDP)
 
Are you looking for a Marketing & Sales career in Chemicals? 
Sasol’s International Business Career Development Program is designed to offer you the training, global experiences and expert support needed to develop key marketing & sales skills. Whether collaborating and networking with customers, identifying and analyzing market challenges or working on product and market development cases, we want you to be part of our growing, innovative team. Over the course of 18-24 months you will be placed on a number of different assignments in e.g. customer service, marketing and sales, research and development or market development. You will experience a variety of opportunities that will enable you to learn and enhance your skills in a range of situations. On top of that we want you to gain international working experience by spending 3-6 months in one of our international locations.
 
Qualifications/ Requirements:
This program is only available to college graduates who have completed the degree requirements listed below within the last 2 years.
 
Education
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree completed within the last 24 months in one of the following areas:
  • Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science; other Natural Sciences (e.g. Biology, Physics) Business or Marketing with a science background. 
  • Master of Science (M.Sc.) a plus
 
Professional/International experiences
  • Demonstrated interest in Marketing & Sales; ideally first experiences in e.g. Customer Service/Support, Chemical Sales (including internships, Co-op, working student assignments)
  • Strong interest in the rotational program to gain experience across the organization
  • Customer Centricity:
  • Strong desire to serve the customer & deliver excellent customer service
  • Willing to travel to customer locations & other sales offices
  • Thorough communication, relationship building, selling and presentation skills (e.g. interacting with customers, building trust and partnerships)
  • Growth Mindset and Entrepreneurial Spirit
  • Enjoys challenges and driving for results, striving to continuously exceed goals and targets
  • Naturally innovative and critical thinker with a “can-do” attitude, proactively seeking out new ideas and continuously willing to learn and adapt new things
  • Resilient and comfortable with making sound decisions based on risk assessment even with incomplete data
  • Demonstrates effective written and oral communication
  • Willing to travel extensively abroad (locations may vary)
  • Previous experience in at least one stay abroad for 3 months or longer will be a plus
  • Fluent in English (both verbal and written); Preferably additional language skills (e.g. Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese/Mandarin)
