Associate Specialist, Field Compliance

Job Description Summary:
This position is responsible for performing timely and accurate in-field field compliance of proposed and/or installed energy-saving measures within Eversource service territory. 
Essential Functions: 
  • Provides services specific to the facilitation and fulfillment of on-site energy efficiency field compliance. Responsibilities include review of inspection request materials, efficient and timely scheduling of field compliance work, performing accurate on-site verification, communicating with internal and external partners, and clearly documenting inspection results within required timelines. Effective communication and responsiveness is essential for all aspects of the position. 
  • Field Compliance Specialists must provide their own reliable transportation for extensive driving throughout Eversource service territory to customer sites and be capable to regularly and consistently perform physical tasks such as extensive walking thru customer sites and climbing fixed ladders. 
  • Includes other duties as assigned.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill: Technical knowledge and identification of mechanical and electrical systems (including but not limited to lighting, lighting controls, HVAC, refrigeration, Building Automation Control Systems, compressed air systems, etc.), and familiarization with energy-saving options. Ability to read and understand construction drawings and schedules. 
Education:  Requires a Bachelor’s technical degree or equivalent relevant experience as a minimum.
Experience: 0-3 years of energy efficiency experience related to electric and natural gas equipment inspections.
Licenses & Certifications:  Energy Auditor and/or Energy Manager Certification preferred.

Working Conditions:
Mainly field work and some office work (for administrative tasks). Requires navigating semi-hazardous indoor and outdoor environments (including but not limited to construction sites, manufacturing environments, commercial rooftops, etc.). Extensive driving throughout Eversource service territory is required.

Problem Solving & Complexity:
This role requires the performance of multiple simultaneous tasks, where deadlines need to be met and work is performed under pressure to meet business commitments and results. Displays emotional resilience and the ability to withstand pressure on an on-going basis. Deals with difficult situations while maintaining performance. Seeks support from others when necessary. Uses appropriate coping techniques. The ability to assess project and invoice paperwork, read drawings, assess energy efficiency projects and associated equipment is essential. Also important are the ability to operate field equipment and perform some testing (including but not limited to distance measuring, taking and recording temperature readings, as well as other on-site measurement and verification).

Physical Aspects: 
Work is performed primarily in the field and includes extensive driving an automobile, use of ladders, climbing of stairs, and operations within commercial and industrial settings at customer sites. Diligence regarding safety is required at all times with the use of proper safety equipment (including but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hard hats, etc.). Movement is required in and around mechanical spaces with potentially dangerous equipment. Work also involves a combination of personal computer and telephone work with office tasks performed in a typical office environment. Other administrative tasks include spreadsheet and tracking system entries, attending and participating in meetings, and use of standard office equipment
