Research Scientist II - Finite Element Analysis/Computational Bone Biomechanics

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) is looking for junior and senior scientists to join the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command’s Biotechnology High Performance Computing Software Applications Institute (BHSAI) [www.BHSAI.org]. HJF provides scientific, technical, and programmatic support services to the BHSAI.  

This opening is for dynamic scientists interested in working in an interdisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and apply computational solutions to biomedical problems involving physiological modeling using finite element analysis (FEA).

2. Analyze and model data with relevance to biomechanics of bone and mechanobiology of bone remodeling and adaptation using FEA.

3. Work simultaneously on multiple projects, involving a diverse and interdisciplinary team of scientists across multiple laboratories.

4. Prepare research proposals, progress reports, and manuscripts for submission to scientific journals.

5. Present research methods and findings at appropriate scientific conferences.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. in a related discipline, extensive computational experience, and a strong publication record. PLEASE APPLY ONLY IF YOU HAVE PROVEN COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY EXPERIENCE.
