Flight Operations Manager and Chief Pilot
Job Summary:
 
The Flight Operations Manager and Chief Pilot will be responsible to manage the flight operations of the company. This includes field operations, training and enabling end-users of the BladeEdge capture technology, and efforts associated with drone-related research and development. This individual will have responsibilities for the day to day operational processes and procedures for the Company's Flight Operations related services, as well as the administration of project activities as deemed necessary by the Company. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this individual will drive Flight Operations. The Flight Operations Manager and Chief Pilot will ensure both the regular and timely release of innovative Flight Operations solutions that satisfy market requirements, exceed customer and Company expectations for Operational Excellence, and work effectively with other internal and external organizations (i.e., Marketing, Security, etc.).
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Flight Operations Manager and Chief Pilot will be responsible for Flight Operation activities for the company, including:
  • Safety is the top priority for the Company – follow all safety procedures and processes
  • Must meet the requirements of, and possess the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
  • Operational understanding and experience with FAA airspace authorization
  • Utilize the remote pilot aviation planning tools, B4UFLY and/or Airmap for Drones
  • Maintain documented operational logs for field flight missions, weather, hardware and software maintenance
  • Keep flight frames, batteries and all other related gear in proper operating condition with maintenance records 
  • Awareness as a “super-user” of the BladeEdge Capture applications delivered to both the internal and external customers – BladeEdge Controller App (BE-APP) and BladeEdge Capture Assurance Tool (BECAT)
  • Managing the internal or external personnel responsible for delivery of Flight Operations
  • Detailed knowledge of the BladeEdge Employee Handbook, health, safety, security and compliance programs
  • Responsible for the Flight Operations budgets
  • Responsible for deployment and implementation of the Capture-related product development roadmap, timelines and associated budgets
  • Follow all Service Management processes and procedures such as but not limited to Incident management, Change Management, and Request Management
  • Developing and managing Flight Operations that are recognized for delivering world-class operational implementation and innovation
  • Facilitating collaboration and enhancing communications between departments such as with Sales, Marketing and Application Development
  • Provide leadership in your position as the Company continues its growth trajectory
  • Ensuring that the Company is effectively and professionally represented to internal and external suppliers and partners. Evaluate, select and manage internal and external partners as appropriate to supplement the overall operational context and ensure that the business and operational objectives are met and exceeded

Education and Experience:
·      Experience in managing the entire operational life cycle, from conception through planning, implementation and verification of operational objectives performance
·      Experience in managing multiple, concurrent operational projects of high complexity
·      Capable of understanding technology
·      An attention to details
·      Proven track record in applying rigorous thinking ability and analytical skills
·      Energetic and aggressive leader who moves with velocity and a sense of urgency
·      Self-starter with an entrepreneurial personality who is capable of functioning without significant infrastructure and support
·      Possesses a strong work ethic, and high degree of professionalism, and business and personal integrity
·      Team-orientation and win/win approach to creating business value

Travel Requirements:
 
Regular travel is required. Travel examples include long daily commutes, frequent overnight stays and weeklong absences from home. Possible international travel required.
