Software Engineer, ECC (Higher Education) - Chicago, IL

As part of the Research Services team, you will work with leading physician/scientists, administrators, and other professionals connected to the healthcare, university and life sciences industries on a variety of projects in strategic planning, finance, operations, technology and compliance.

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Software Engineer, you will participate in all aspects of software development (design, development, testing, maintenance, support) of the business’s Research Administration applications. This is a hands-on development role responsible for design, implementation, and lifecycle management of Huron’s Employee Compensation Compliance (ECC) solution.
You’ll be part of the Huron Higher Education team with opportunities to collaborate, learn and grow while impacting some of the most prestigious higher education and research institutions.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Required:
-     Current permanent U.S. work authorization.
-     Bachelor's and/or Master’s Degree in Computer Science (or related field), OR equivalent years of programming/development experience.
-     2 -4 years of experience in software product and test development with complex systems and/or application software.
-     Experience in the development of web-based, Service Oriented Architecture solutions.
-     Experience working with Java, J2EE, and substantial skills in web markup and scripting languages (HTML, XHTML, XML, AJAX, JQuery, CSS, JavaScript, and XSLT).

Preferred:
-     Hibernate or other ORM technologies experience.
-     iOS and/or Android mobile development experience.
