U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission Fall 2019 Student Honors Business Program

Do you want to perform volunteer business/operations work in a challenging yet professional environment? Begin by investing in your career and future at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)!

Business students volunteers will be assigned to work with SEC staff members on projects and assignments that cover a broad range of the Commissions' work. That work depends upon the division or office where the student works. Business intern assignments range from supporting securities regulations to assisting in professional administrative duties such as human resources, contracting, auditing, etc.

Volunteer internship opportunities in the Fall are either full-time or part-time with an minimum hours requirement of at least 15 hours per week. This is determined and agreed upon based on the selectees academic course load schedule and division/office needs. You will have the opportunity to discuss schedule, hours, etc. upon selection and acceptance into the program.

***The Fall 2019 Student Honors Business Program for students will officially begin August 19, 2019 and conclude November 22, 2019***

Conditions of Employment
•You must be a U.S. Citizen.
•Enrolled and/or accepted as an undergraduate or graduate student during fall 2019.
•18 years or older at the time of appointment.
•You must be registered for Selective Service if applicable (www.sss.gov).
•You must be suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Undergraduate and graduate students must be enrolled and/or accepted at an accredited university or college AND enrolled at least half-time (6 credits per semester or the equivalent) in an accredited college or university to participate in the Student Honors Business Program.

 - Must be an undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior student as of September 30, 2019.

OR

 - Must be accepted and/or enrolled into a graduate degree program as of September 30, 2019.

AND

 - Must be taking at least half-time academic course load
 - A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred
 - Relatives of current SEC employees are ineligible
