Stadium Operations Internship
The Badlands Big Sticks are a summer collegiate baseball team in Dickinson, ND. Established as a charter member of the Expedition League in 2018, the Big Sticks are committed to providing fun and affordable family entertainment and strong community involvement while developing elite college baseball players.
General Information:
- Internship runs from mid-May 2019 thru mid-August 2019 (start and end dates can be flexible with school schedule)
- Preference given to current college students requiring academic credit
- Attendance required for all 32 Big Stick home games (view schedule HERE)
- Interns are required to maintain a challenging schedule - expect 12-14 hour days on game-days and 60+ hour weeks during home-stands
- Interns will be paid a stipend of $1000 for the summer and provided a meal on each home game day
- Housing can be provided in the Dickinson area for those who need it. Interns are responsible for their own transportation
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist management with oversight of all ballpark and game-day operations
- Lead pre-game set-up and post-game clean-up and tear-down operations
- Assist with supervision and direction of game-day staff
- Assist with supervision and service of hospitality areas including beer garden and VIP to ensure an excellent fan experience
- Monitor food and beverage inventory and assist Concession Manager with ordering and receiving
- Maintain appearance and cleanliness of ballpark including concession stand, food & beverage kiosks, concourse, and facilities
- Manage concessions operations in Concession Manager's absence
- Assist with managing concessions for non-Big Sticks games and extra events at the ballpark
- Distribute and refill pocket schedules at area businesses throughout the season
- Attend mascot and community appearances
- Assist with team laundry as needed
- Continually brainstorm new and creative ideas for sales and promotions
Requirements:
- Excellent time management, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Willingness to help out in all areas of team operations and marketing as needed
- Previous food service experience beneficial, but not required
