Editorial intern

Kansas City's city magazine, 435, offers three-month editorial internships throughout the year.

Interns are expected to work about 20 hours per week.

Internships are hands-on and involve a variety of responsibilities including writing, fact-checking and collating information that's helpful as we plan large editorial projects. Interns will work primarily on news features, blog posts and events coverage but may end up writing features on travel, food, music, theater or books.

Primary duties include writing short items, fact-checking stories and contributing research to larger stories and feature packages. Interns will write shorter stories for the front of the book and the feature package.

We offer an honorarium of $250/per month.

Please note: We can only accept applicants who are enrolled in an educational institution where they will receive school credit for completing an internship.
