Recreation Intern- Employment, Community Connections
We are looking for a Recreation Intern with a flexible schedule to carry out an experiential and educational internship. The Recreation Intern is responsible for supporting the Community Connections team in developing and implementing structured educational, leisure, and recreation activities for program participants in both community- and facility-based program sites.
Duties:
- Assist in group and individual programming including program development and implementation
- Identify or create meaningful activities for program participants that encourage personal choice and help fulfil program participants' goals
- Identify on-going community programs or organizations for recreational, leisure, or educational/skill-building programming for participants
A successful candidate will possess:
- Skills and knowledge of recreational therapies, education, skill development.
- Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to act in professional manner at all times.
- The ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong personal initiative and independence.
- The ability to manage and embrace change.
- Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma required. College students in health and human Services, recreation or social work programs are strongly encouraged to apply.
