Catastrophe Risk Analyst

As a Catastrophe Risk Analyst, you will work together with the TigerRisk Broking team to assist in portfolio management and reinsurance decision making.

TigerRisk leads the industry in facilitating innovative reinsurance solutions while also being integrally embedded within our clients' operations.  

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage property insurance data for TigerRisk Clients
  • Prepare property insurance data for catastrophe risk analysis using SQL
  • Generate probabilistic loss distributions using various vendor catastrophe modeling software and internal methods
  • Use proprietary software to design and manage catastrophe reinsurance programs
  • Coordinate real-time catastrophic event analyses for clients
  • Establish strong relationships with colleagues, clients and reinsurers
  • Communicate analytical ideas with multiple audiences
  • Perform Portfolio profitability analysis for TigerRisk Clients

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance or similar analytical major
  • 6 months – 1 year of work experience
  • Knowledge and/or ability to learn and apply techniques in Statistical/Probabilistic Risk Modeling is a must
  • Proficient in working and programming in the MS Windows environment and MS Office
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
  • Effective communicator, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of SQL is a plus
  • Legally authorized to work in the US
