The Role

Program Overview

Korn Ferry Start Up participants will complete a training program combining world-class curriculum including a combination of classroom assignments, hands-on simulations, and experiential learning modules focused on:

  • Talent Management methodologies

Our program is focused on accelerating time to contribution, contributing to your career and developing our future talent industry leaders.

Our StartUp program is based just outside of Dallas in our Addison, Texas location (Dallas / Ft. Worth Metroplex area). Following the program, depending on your role, graduates need to be open to potential relocation based on the needs of the business. Post program placement office locations can include but are not limited to: Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and San Francisco.

The Research Associate is an important part of the Knowledge Management team. The primary focus of this role is supporting the practice in preparing for business development meetings and delivering on executive search projects.   

Key Accountabilities

A successful Research Associate career path typically includes opportunities for promotion to Associate and/or Senior Associate, which has extensive client contact and business development expectations. Career paths for successful candidates may also include a more senior Research position (e.g. “Knowledge Manager or Market Intelligence Manager”) for a sector or COE cluster.

  • Consistently inputting and updating candidate records in Korn/Ferry’s proprietary candidate management system using Power of 10 metrics.
  • Actively participant in designing the search and business development strategy with the Partner and Consultant; pro-active involvement as a valued team contributor throughout the search process from pitch to candidate development.
  • Providing research in support of candidate identification and business development activities of the practice. Develops appropriate candidate “target” lists for Senior Associates using the phone, print materials and a wide range of online information resources.
  • Attends or listens in on kick-off meetings, suggests possible targets and attends client briefings/meetings when possible; Attends or listens in on all applicable sector and practice meetings/calls.
  • Develops a full understanding of the search and the research needs of internal clients; Develops confidence and trust of both internal and external clients.
  • Teaming up on “proprietary” market intelligence projects in a research associate’s sector and/or COE “minor”; Proactively identifies and tracks organizational, industry, and/or functional trends and reports findings.
  • When not engaged in research to support Korn/Ferry searches, the research associate will help improve the practice’s knowledge management intranet site. This may include updating industry and market research, turning relevant deliverables into reusable templates and adding content to the intranet page.

Skills & Experience

BA/BS degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA required
