The Role

Program Overview

Korn Ferry Start Up participants will complete a training program combining world-class curriculum including a combination of classroom assignments, hands-on simulations, and experiential learning modules focused on:

  • Comprehensive on-boarding including knowledge and exposure to all of Korn Ferry’s solutions
  • End-to-end Talent Acquisition process
  • Talent Management methodologies
  • Industry-leading and innovative tools, products and technology

In addition to the curriculum, our world-class program incorporates exposure to many subject matter experts, Company leaders and enables you to begin to build your talent network – essential to your foundational and continued career growth. Our program is focused on accelerating time to contribution, contributing to your career and developing our future talent industry leaders.

Our StartUp program is based just outside of Dallas in our Addison, Texas location (Dallas / Ft. Worth Metroplex area). Following the program, depending on your role, graduates need to be open to potential relocation based on the needs of the business. Post program placement office locations can include but are not limited to: Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and San Francisco.

The Small Medium Enterprise Representative is responsible for managing a portfolio of KF products, actively renewing annual purchases, securing submission of company data to build Korn Ferry databases, and providing customer service to global & local colleagues. The SME will be agile and be able to build relationships with internal & external stakeholders in the pursuit of cross-selling KF’s products. The job holder possesses strong social skills plus the ability to understand and influence others.  

Key Accountabilities

  • Needs Assessment: Collects information through a variety of methods to gain a better understanding of client business needs. For example, reads written client communications (email, web inquires, etc.) and listens closely to callers to understand needs; ask prospects/clients clear and concise questions focusing only on critical information; gives answers that address the question completely and/or responds appropriately including doing the required research and letting them know when they can expect an answer
  • Recommendations: Provides recommendations to clients for products that will meet needs and will respond to stakeholders with a sense of urgency. Continuously provides feedback to supervisor to improve standard processes and procedures based on experience. For example, shares feedback on call scripts
  • Sales: Proactively renews products and services in assigned portfolio while following standardized protocols. Generates survey participation and product/service leads; closes leads and aids field sales. Builds and expands on existing relationships. Able to establish trust and rapport with stakeholders to close the lead.
  • Marketing: Qualifies inbound marketing leads into sales opportunities. Closes opportunities on their own or turns them to field sales, solution design or back to marketing as appropriate. Must be organized and process driven to meet your sales goals & metrics.
  • Sales Data Management: Ensures activity and client information in Marketing and Salesforce systems are up-to-date. Utilizes the tools for success, responds to inbound leads while building and retaining relationships. Must have solid presentation skills as the SME will conduct product demonstrations. Produces accurate reports for team as needed. Updates tracking systems with contact and opportunity details as appropriate. Inputs forecasting data to SalesForce for sold items based on established processes
  • Client Data Management: Follows all company policies related to data privacy and security while accessing client and contact information from systems to perform duties
  • Time Management: Strong Organization skills are a must as the SME will be juggling multiple priorities. Uses time management skills to ensure client needs and other daily objectives are met. Coordinates within team to ensure all conduits for incoming leads are covered by teammates if away from work or focused on special projects

Skills & Experience

  • BA/BS degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA required
