Pipette Calibration Technician

The Pipette Technician is responsible for performing calibration, maintenance and repair on pipetting devices including, but not limited to, single and multi-channel pipettes, bottle top dispensers and repeater pipettes. This role will demonstrate a high level of organization, the ability to multi task, and build a level of trust with internal and external customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Clean, repair and calibrate pipetting devices.
  • Responsible for documentation of calibration and preparation of calibration reports.
  • Maintain equipment data in a CMMS database.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment and parts inventory.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends.
  • Ability to work normal schedule of Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds for approximately 10% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work seated for approximately 50% of a typical working day. Ability to work standing for approximately 50% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of working time.
  • Ability to utilize lab equipment 75% of a typical work day.
  • Ability to use and wear safety protective gear/equipment (e.g. safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, etc.) and follow safety guidelines.
  • Ability to work with hazardous or flammable materials (e.g. chemicals, electrical equipment) so as not to endanger oneself or others.
  • Ability to frequently and accurately communicate with employees, customers, and vendors in person, via the telephone or by email.
  • Constant walking or motion to coordinate work and interact with co-workers.
