Assistant Athletic Director for Event Management and Facilities

The Assistant Athletic Director for Event Management and Facilities will oversee and supervise all aspects of management, operations, and university coordinated maintenance of athletics facilities including administrative offices and sport facilities. Additionally, this position will assist in the development and implementation of the policies and objectives related to athletic events and facilities. The individual will directly supervise all aspects of management, operations, and university coordinated maintenance of athletics facilities and will have oversight responsibility over athletic event management operations and personnel. The Assistant Athletic Director for Event Management and Facilities will work closely with the Deputy Director of Athletics in developing departmental objectives and long-range facility planning. Further duties will include:
-Provide overall leadership on special projects for the Director.
-Responsible for overall development of policies/procedures and coordination of athletic facility rentals.
-Work closely with University Facilities Management to prepare and maintain athletic facilities and act as liaison to campus and university units in assisting with the evaluation of policies and compliance to them as related to emergency management.
-Provide supervision (including performance evaluation and discipline), training, hiring, and firing of staff for facilities, event management special events and rentals.
-Possibility of sport oversight in the future.
The Assistant Athletic Director for Event Management and Facilities must comply with all University, Conference, and NCAA Division I rules and regulations. The professional responsibilities of this position will necessitate evening and weekend hours. Further duties may be assigned in support of the department’s mission and goals.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
1. (A) Bachelor’s Degree in Campus Recreation or Athletics, Sports Management, Business Administration, or closely related field.
    OR
    (B) Three years of responsible experience in the maintenance and operation of sports facilities (such as intercollegiate, recreational, or intramural facilities), two of which were in a supervisory capacity.
2. One year of experience in the management of sports facilities, in addition to the training/experience required in #1.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Master's Degree
-Experience in a collegiate Division I athletic program
-Supervisory experience

Exempt

Posting Salary:
$47,000 - $51,000 Annually to commensurate with experience and credentials, excellent benefits package.
