Our beautiful setting is the perfect place to inspire our campers to develop a love of the arts. We are looking for energetic, awe inspiring art instructors to teach our campers. Teach arts (Painting, Drawing, Bookmaking, Zines, Ceramics, Printmaking, and more) to campers aged 7 -17.

As an art instructor you will work directly with a Head of Arts and Crafts and other counselors including junior counselors. As a lodge/non-lodge, you will work with a Unit Coordinator/Head, co – counselors and the other counselors in your Unit. All staff are under the supervision of the Directors and Administration Team.

Since 1916, Arcadia has been fortifying young girls and women with life skills that will serve them well into adulthood. Camp builds self-confidence, friendships that last a lifetime, and the self-assurance to help girls understand who there are and how they fit into the world. 

Our staff come from all over the US and the world. Our staff are actively and enthusiastically involved in camp life teaching/working in their activity and participating in community life. We have a focus on health and wellness, environmental issues, global awareness and personal expression. Our staff are integral to the success and effectiveness of our program.

Our ideal candidate is 19 or older and has completed at least one year in college, has strong experience in his/her chosen activity/area, enjoys working with children and has a love of and comfort in being in the out -of-doors. A positive outlook, flexibility and a sense of humor are essential. All staff must pass a background check.

We provide room and board for the entire employment period. Our cabins are simple, yet comfortable with views of Pleasant Lake. Some of our cabins have electricity and some do not. Male counselors and live in shared cabins in our staff housing area. Laundry service is provided or you can choose to use our coin-operated machines.

We are located in Otisfield, Maine on Pleasant Lake.  The quaint town of Casco, about a mile away, is where you will find a post office, convenience store, sandwich and ice cream shop, a library and a gym.  Traveling about 20 - 30 minutes will take you to grocery stores, restaurants and shopping for essentials. The closest major city is Portland, about an hour away, is a fun place for shopping, dining, culture.
