Post-doctoral Fellow / Staff Scientist - Aging & Metabolism

Department: Aging & Metabolism - Griffin

The Griffin Lab (griffint.omrf.org) is seeking a post-doctoral fellow or staff scientist to study the mechanisms of osteoarthritis pathophysiology. The lab uses genetically modified mouse models and diet treatments to study the effect of aging and obesity on cartilage biology. The lab also studies how exercise regulates synovial inflammation in healthy and injured joints using mouse models. Broad focus areas for the lab are metabolism, inflammation, and mechanobiology. The research will involve working with a multi-disciplinary group of colleagues in the Aging and Metabolism Research Program at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF). Our lab shares strong collaborations with other labs at OMRF and at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) in the areas of aging, mitochondrial biology, osteoimmunology, and orthopaedics. The Aging and Metabolism Research Program is committed to training postdoctoral fellows for an independent research career. Staff Scientists are also eligible for career advancement. We are seeking candidates with a strong scientific background and excellent written and verbal communication skills to work independently and in a multidisciplinary research team. Candidates with expertise in metabolism and immunology are encouraged to apply. The position is available immediately.
