Donor Recognition and Stewardship Internship

As an intern in the area of donor stewardship and recognition, you will assist with updating our donor database as well as launching and promoting our donor program. Once an individual or organization makes a gift to a non-profit, the organization needs to thank that individual and appropriately recognize their support.

Pay Range: $1,000 stipend upon satisfactory completion of internship and will pay quarterly mileage for anything over 20 miles.

Hours: 10 hours per week Summer 2019 through Fall 2019 semesters. Schedule is flexible with available dates of Monday-Tuesday- Wednesday-Thursday 8-5, Friday 8-1 and possible evenings as needed for donor events.

Scope of Duties:
• Write thank you notes to donors immediately after receiving a contribution (from a gift, volunteer hours, and or event attendance)
• Develop and implement a plan for on-going donor stewardship and recognition
• Write donor recognition pieces for social and traditional media platforms
• Write stories for social and traditional media platforms that demonstrate the impact that philanthropy has on the lives of Gilda’s Club members
• Plan and implement donor stewardship event
• Update donor database records

Furthermore, as a donor recognition and stewardship intern – depending on your specific duties and
responsibilities, you will gain experience in the following important transferable skills:

• Developing and executing a plan
• Data management, collection and analysis

• Event planning and execution
