Junior Staff Accountant

Summary:   Our Junior Staff Accountants are responsible for processing accounts payable transactions, preparing journal entries, reviewing and processing expense reports, performing bank reconciliations and other duties as assigned.

Description:   We are seeking a highly organized, accurate and trustworthy individual to join our team as a Junior Staff Accountant. Our Junior Staff Accountants are primarily responsible for assisting in various accounting functions that support every division of the company. The Junior Staff Accountant will be responsible for processing accounts payable transactions, preparing journal entries, filing sales and use tax returns, reviewing and processing expense reports, updating asset files, performing bank reconciliations and other duties as assigned. Using well-known accounting software combined with a highly sophisticated accounts payable processing system, we pride ourselves on being one of the most advanced accounting departments in the city.

Industry:  This position is part of our Administration division, which supports multiple operating divisions that serve a nationwide customer base in industries ranging from residential communities to the financial industry to the medical field.

Responsibilities:  Junior Staff Accountants are responsible for assisting in various monthly accounting functions to support each division of the company. Other key responsibilities include:

·     Processing accounts payable transactions
·     Preparing journal entries
·     Filing sales and use tax returns
·     Reviewing and processing expense reports
·     Updating asset files
·     Performing bank reconciliations
·     Overseeing inventory purchasing and distribution
·     Promoting our company reputation and values through personal appearance, presentation skills, resourcefulness and integrity
·     Understanding and upholding the policies, professional standards, and values of our company and the industries it serves
·     Other duties as assigned

Experience:  Previous Accounting experience preferred.
 
Education:  A bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university is required.

·     Microsoft Outlook
·     Working knowledge of database systems
