City of Saint Paul Early Childhood AmeriCorps VISTA Program - Office of Mayor Melvin Carter

The City of Saint Paul VISTA Program’s mission is to build capacity of organizations that provide affordable and accessible high-quality early childhood programs as a way to build a Saint Paul that works for all of us. VISTA members serve at local government agencies and nonprofits building and expanding systems and programs for children from birth to three and their families and caregivers. VISTAs do more capacity building (aka behind the scenes) work to help these agencies better serve St. Paul families. VISTA members collaborate, forging connections between their organization to create an interconnected network of services in our city. VISTAs are each key members of Mayor Carter's Birth to Three Initiative. Member will attend paid, bi-weekly trainings on various topics surrounding professional development and early childhood topics.

AmeriCorps VISTA Members receive a living stipend of $12000 annually, health care and mileage reimbursement, a relocation stipend (if applicable) as well as public loan deferment, and an end of the year Education Award of $5990 that can be used toward tuition or student loans.
