Internship - Public Relations and Partnerships Summer 2019

The Intern for Public Relations and Partnerships will assist with organizing and executing daily operations that guide initiatives to support the Public Relations and Partnerships team overarching goal - raising awareness for the No Kid Hungry brand with a national consumer audience. Under the supervision of the Associate, Public Relations and Partnerships, the intern will support unique consumer press moments and priority campaigns that raise awareness about No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in America.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Support tracking and reporting on communications activities and media placements activated through traditional and digital platforms, including national consumer press coverage, and more.
  • Assist with organizing logistics and preparing materials for Public Relations and Partnerships events and campaigns.
  • Conduct research and help facilitate logistical needs to ensure successful execution of press activations and engagement activities. 
  • Collaborate with Associate, Public Relations and Partnerships on development of media pitches and other press materials. 
  • Work with the Public relations and partnerships team to craft blog posts and social media posts as needed.
  • Collect assets to help develop talking points and other briefing materials for media opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills
 
  • Currently enrolled or have earned a Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field.
  • Strong interest in communications, communication material production processes, digital communications, and eager to learn how to work with media.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading skills, and social media savvy.
  • Detail orientation and strong organizational skills a must.
  • Exceptional ability to work in a fluid, dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and possess willingness to handle multiple administrative tasks.
  • Knowledge of PR and media tools like Cision Point a plus.
