K Camp Lead Teacher
POSITION SPECIFIC DETAILS:
Hours: 35 hours/week
Status: Temporary Summer position
SUMMARY:
The K Camp Lead Teacher will plan, design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the individual needs of all children. Lead Teachers will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Head Start and K Camp requirements. This is a temporary/summer session position that will start on June 24, 2019 and end on August 16, 2019. K Camp staff are expected to work the entire 8 week session. Preference will be given to current Reach Dane part-year employees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates: preferred to have a Bachelor’s degree in ECE and have a Wisconsin DPI Pre-K or Early Childhood Regular Education License; or
- Minimum educational requirement of an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or in a related field that includes 18 credits in Early Childhood Education / Development. Ability to apply Early Childhood Development theory in daily classroom activities, and adapt to the individuals needs of children.
- Experience working with young children and diverse populations is required
- Provide a safe, healthy and compliant environment for supervision, development and learning
- Establish and implement daily lesson plan; prepare and implement age-appropriate developmental experiences and school readiness learning activities; supervise children in the classroom
- Implement agency approved curriculum that includes knowledge and skills in the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework’s five essential domains: language and literacy development, cognition and general knowledge, approaches to learning, physical well-being and motor development, and social emotional development; Complying with all licensing
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
