Web Developer

Job Description
The Application Web Developer provides in-house analytical and programming support for the company's public eCommerce web site and is responsible for ensuring successful daily site operation without serious interruption. This position provides the individual an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to a wide variety of technologies and business
processes. 
  
The Application Web Developer performs programming tasks according to established departmental standards and thoroughly tests the operation of complete programs and linkage to other programs. This position is also responsible for creating and maintaining stored procedures and other SQL-based objects as well as providing day-to-day programming support of assigned systems in both the problem solving and new project environments. 

RELATIONSHIPS 
This position reports to the eCommerce Project Leader and works closely with other members of the Application Web Development team. This position interacts with members of other internal business units as needed and maintains positive business relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors. 
  
Technical Environment: .NET MVC, Angular, SQL Server, Microsoft Windows Server, IIS 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 
• Analyzes, troubleshoots, and debugs existing code/programs 
• Designs program logic to meet specifications and to adheres to prescribed standards 
• Codes programs in authorized language 
• Assists in system design
• Keeps the eCommerce Project Leader informed verbally and in writing of activities and problems within assigned area of responsibility 
• Refers matters beyond limits of authority to appropriate parties in a timely manner 
• Prepares test data and tests coded programs to validate accuracy 
• Documents programs according to installation standards 
• Provides on call support on a rotation schedule 
• Analyzes requests for programming assistance and determines how to provide timely and effective support 
• Adheres to the company's defined methods, standards, and policies for development and operation of systems 
• Executes all assignments in a timely, cost effective, and quality manner 
• Fulfills administrative reporting requirements 
• Performs other duties as assigned  
External Qualifications
Required minimum knowledge, skills, education/training, experience, and physical obligations: 
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field plus a minimum of one year of web application development using Microsoft .NET or Java and minimum of one year of experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database 
• Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritize, work within assigned deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively to accomplish organizational objectives 
• Possess excellent oral and written business communication skills 
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment 
• Ability to analyze data and identify root causes 
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team to provide superior customer satisfaction to both internal and external customers 
• Must be detailed oriented and well organized 
• Ability to adhere to Edward Don & Company’s standards of conduct policy 
  
Preferred minimum knowledge, skills, education/training, experience, and physical obligations: 
• Two-three years experience developing in a C#/ASP.NET MVC environment 
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall development methodology 
• Experience with responsive design 
• Experience with Mercurial or other version control software 
• Experience with IoC, inversion of control, and Unity a plus 
• Experience using an ORM, object-relational mapping, such as nHibernate or Entity a plus 
• Previous development experience working on a high-volume, eCommerce website a plus
