MARKETING ASSISTANT

Job Title:               Marketing Assistant
Reports to:               President
Hours:               Summer Internship or Full Time - 5 days per week 7:00 am – 4:00 pm with some Saturday hours
                            (Days, hours and times may vary depending on location needs)
 
Job Summary: Assist in developing new accounts and business opportunities. Follow up with and expand opportunities we have with existing customers. Work on developing or updating marketing plans and programs including recycling events. Assisting the President and current marketing representatives in their marketing tasks.
 
Duties Include (but are not limited to)
Ability to quickly learn about our recycling services and products
Assist in providing customers with price quotes for various products and services
Investigate opportunities for handling new products and providing additional new recycling services
Generate customer pick-up & drop off paperwork
Enter customer information into our customer database
Assist in acquiring, maintaining, and helping at community recycling events
Assist in the determination of product buying prices
Assist in the sales of products and recycling services
 
Skills Needed:
Proficient computer knowledge and skills in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher programs, and other software
Confident in using social media, giving presentations, writing up proposals, negotiating, and persuading customers.
Excellent level of spoken and written English is required for marketing activities
Ability to build relationships, work independently, and as part of a team
Ability to plan and prioritize activities and work in great detail
Ability to do research into new potential markets, plan marketing campaigns, and analyze results.
Must be comfortable with some on the road cold calling of potential customers
 
Education:
Some secondary education or equivalent job experience
A degree in marketing, economics, or business is preferred
 
Experience Preferred:
General social media knowledge
Experience in the customer service field.
 
Requirements:
Valid drivers license and transportation
Dependable and punctual attendance
