4 Year Old Kindergarten Teacher - Full-time

The Mukwonago Area School District, located approximately 25 miles southwest of Milwaukee, is seeking a 4K teacher beginning in August 2018 at Prairie View Elementary School. The school, nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School, is located in the Village of North Prairie and serves approximately 350 students.  

The selected candidate will be a passionate advocate for early childhood education and be able to develop an enthusiasm for learning in his/her students. The teacher must possess strong classroom management skills and demonstrate a good command of teaching skills incorporating high-yield activities, especially in early literacy development. Demonstrated experience with early childhood education, including experiential learning and thematic lessons, is important. Special consideration will be given to a highly-motivated teacher with demonstrated expertise in assessment-driven instruction, differentiation, and use of technology.   

A working knowledge of the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards, and standards-based reporting of student achievement is preferred. A demonstrated collaborative working relationship with all stakeholders and effective communication skills are essential. The candidate must be knowledgeable about current research-based teaching practices to meet the criteria of Response to Intervention (RTI) and the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Experience with a play-based classroom is important. 

Qualifications include excellent communication skills and the ability to relate positively with parents. In addition, a history of collaborative working relationships with other staff members is essential.

Job requirements include the completion of a program in early childhood education, and the candidate must possess or be eligible for a regular education license that covers early childhood or PK/K through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Additional certification in other areas is preferred, but not required.
