Bioscience Research Scientist II - Center for Macromolecular Science


The Biosciences Division at SRI International has an open Research Scientist position in the Center for Macromolecular Bioscience in Harrisonburg, VA. 

We seek highly motivated scientist with interests in cancer biology, biologic drug development, and/or immunooncology. The person should be driven to contribute intellectually in a dynamic team environment and have a desire to participate in therapeutic discovery efforts.

The scientist will be asked to:
  • Participate in active research programs in drug discovery and delivery, including biologic and immuno-therapies for cancer.
  • Collaborate with scientists from other disciplines (chemistry, molecular and cellular biology, and immunology) in cross-divisional teams.
  • Interact with government and commercial clients, write scientific papers, and present work at scientific conferences.
  • Develop an independent research program supported by a combination of grants and contracts from government and commercial sources.
  • Build the SRI’s pipeline of therapies and discovery technologies.
Qualifications : Requirements:
  • PhD in cancer biology, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, or related field with a minimum of 2-year experience as a postdoctoral fellow or similar career experience.
  • The successful candidate will have experience with cell-based assays as well as engineered tumor models.
  • Expertise in the development of biologic therapeutics and drug conjugates is beneficial.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary;
  • Should work well in interdisciplinary team-based groups.
