Graphic Design Intern
The Graphic Design Intern will assist in the production of high-quality designs to further the mission of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa. This position is uniquely created to be a combination of on the job learning and independent work, gaining real world design experience in a non-profit setting. This internship will include on the job learning as you work with our Assistant Creative Director to complete day to day design tasks.
What you’ll be doing
- Assist in the development of graphic solutions for print and web.
- Contribute skills to ongoing council initiatives while following brand guidelines and aesthetic direction.
- Assist in preparation for and at events as needed. You will also spend part of this time working on independent projects.
Qualifications
- Student pursuing a degree in graphic design
- Strong attention to detail and excellence time management
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily using InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
- Strong customer service and communication skills: must be able to provide project updates as needed and talk through project ideas and execution with team
- Photography and video skills appreciated but not required
- Reliable transportation
The details
Fall Semester internship. Flexible start date between August 1 and September 1. Estimated time is 10 – 15 hours per week, with flexibility for the right candidate. This internship is paid but may also qualify for class credit. Check with your school for more information.
