2019-2020 SAISD Master Teacher

Master Teachers are experienced champions of children with proven track records of success in the classroom. Master Teachers will be responsible for accelerating their students’ learning and ensuring that they reach their maximum potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- Two (2) years of teaching experience (by the end of the 2018-2019 school year)
- Evidence of success in achieving high levels of student growth in the grade/subject for which the teacher is applying demonstrated through performance evaluations and student data
Grades, Subjects, Other Certifications:
San Antonio ISD is hiring Master Teachers holding any of the following certifications:
- Elementary, Middle, High School Teachers (Grades PreK through 12th) in core subjects
- Language Arts, Science, Math, Social Sciences, Foreign Languages
- Bilingual, ESL, SPED, CTE
- AP and IB
Salary
- Base salary in accordance with their placement on the SAISD 2019-2020 salary scale.
- $7,500 stipend for extended-day teaching (usually 5 additional hours per week during the school year)
- $5,000 stipend for an optional 15 days of summer school instruction.
- Secondary math, science, or bilingual teachers are eligible for an additional $2,000 stipend.
