Solar Project Finance Analyst

Gardner Capital is seeking a well-qualified Solar Project Finance Analyst to support our Solar Group in St. Louis. Gardner Capital is a Solar and Affordable Housing developer, investor and tax credit syndicator with a nationwide presence. The Analyst will assist in financial analysis, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting activities for Gardner Capital’s Solar Group.
 
Job Duties
  • Execute corporate planning, budget and cash forecast processes in a private equity environment.
  • Build and maintain solar project-level project cash flow models with flexible debt & equity inputs.
  • Build and maintain detailed long-range plans for the business, including creating models based on forecasted levels of operation.
  • Actively collaborate with business partners across the company to communicate financial results, develop accurate forecasts, understand projects, and communicate impact to our business units.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial management reports and perform variance analysis.
  • Establish and maintain effective business partnerships within the organization.
  • Maintain and improve FP&A systems.
  • Provide ad hoc and financial data analyses as needed.
  • Continuously improve current processes for budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting for increased efficiency, accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage and maintain budgeting/forecasting systems, including continued evolution and data maintenance/administration.
  • Potential for lateral movement in other areas of Finance.
  • Reports to Head of Solar Development and works cross functionally with business partners across the company.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
·        Bachelor’s Degree with 1 – 5 years of professional experience (GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred).
  • Must work in Gardner Capital’s St. Louis, MO office.
  • Experience with business intelligence and forecasting tools, such as Hyperion HFM, Hyperion Planning, Host Analytics, or SAP Business Objects, preferably Hyperion HFM and/or Planning background.
  • Familiarity with renewable project development, real estate development, transmission OR power project engineering with a desire to learn more.
  • Demonstrated agility and flexibility as business needs and priorities shift.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve problems.
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Travel as needed, anticipated 10 - 25% of the time.
