Women in Leadership - Mobile and Web Application Developers

BoardSeatMeet, a Silicon Valley based non-profit startup, building the world's first application focused on helping more women join corporate governance (board of directors) of public, private, startup and non-profit corporations. We'd love you to join us on this journey!

California became the first state in the country to mandate women on company boards. The law, known as SB 826, dated September 30, 2018, added to the Corporations Code, to read: 301.3.

No later than the close of the 2019 calendar year, a publicly held domestic or foreign corporation whose principal executive offices, according to the corporation’s SEC 10-K form, are located in California shall have a minimum of one female director on its board.

No later than the close of the 2021 calendar year, the bill would increase that required minimum number to 2 female directors if the corporation has 5 directors or to 3 female directors if the corporation has 6 or more directors.

In contrast to other California nonprofit public benefit organization's whose primary activity consists of social functions for the benefit, pleasure, and recreation of its members, BoardSeatMeet, Inc. advocates for proactively increasing the numbers of women serving on corporate boards by instructing the public on how to achieve gender parity and stimulating interest in complying with existing 20th century law enacted in 1992 as Title 29 of the United States Code Chapter 27.

As a scientific, educational, and charitable organization, BoardSeatMeet, Inc. invites mobile application developers to create solutions that can accelerate women participation in the boardroom and will be published in the App Store.
