School Social Worker/District Community Outreach #1997

WORK HOURS:    
1.0 FTE (.5 Social Worker at Rice Elementary & .5 District Community Outreach) beginning the 2019-2020 school year
         
JOB DUTIES:    
  • Knowledge of:

  • Juvenile Justice
  • County Social Service Systems/Services
  • Community Mental Health Resources
  • Community Medical Resources
  • Community Dental Health Resources
  • Community Assistance Programs

Competency in:
Children's social/emotional & mental health concerns affecting their educational success including, but not limited to:
  • Family Systems
  • Mental Health Diagnoses
  • Child Abuse and Neglect
  • Child Development

Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide case management services for all students receiving special education programming. These services include, but are not limited to:
  • Participation on the child's IEP team for purposes of consultation and planning
  • Delivery of counseling services as needed
  • Support group facilitation
  • Teacher consultation as it pertains to intervention planning
  • Parent consultation
  • Direct service provision to students during the course of their school day
  • Consultation with paraprofessionals
  • Agency liaison for students needing alternative placements and/or transition services
  • Mobilize community and county resources and integrate them into the life of the school (United Way, Greater MN Family Services, Central MN Mental Health Center, etc.)
  • Align community partners and programs with District's academic plans and goals
  • Communicate, share information with, and get input from Social Workers throughout the District

Other School Responsibilities:
  • Participation as member of student services department
  • Participation in the every-day operations and activities of Pleasantview
  • Other duties as assigned and in accordance with licensure(s)

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum requirements: Graduation from a CSWE accredited social work university program with a minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (BSW) and Minnesota Board of Social Work Licensure or equivalency.

Preferred qualifications:
Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW)License as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

SALARY:
Based on the Sauk Rapids-Rice Education Association's Master Agreement as negotiated.
