Post-doctoral fellowship position in biomedical engineering

A postdoctoral position is currently available in the Cellular and Tissue Therapies Branch, FDA/CBER/OTAT/DCGT. The successful candidate will primarily work on developing an in vitro human placenta barrier model that can mimic and evaluate drug transport at the human placenta barrier. The project will employ a variety of approaches including microfluidics, biomaterials, high-resolution imaging, and cell biology. In collaboration with the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR), the utility and reliability of the engineered human placenta barrier model will be further evaluated by conducting parallel in vivo studies.

Eligible candidates should have a recent Ph.D. degree (within 3 years of the degree). Experience with microfluidics/microfabrication and 3D in vitro system is favorable. This position is only open for US citizens, permanent residents (Green Card holders) or individuals residing in US for 3 years during the last 5 years on a valid US visa.
