VYT-PHWC- Outreach and Development Coordinator VISTA

AmeriCorps VISTA is a national service program that aims to alleviate poverty across the county, and The Vermont Youth Tomorrow AmeriCorps VISTA program (VYT) places VISTA members throughout Vermont to promote hope, justice, and well-being for all Vermont youth and families. The People's Health & Wellness Clinic (PHWC) is one of the sites with which VYT places VISTA members.

PHWC is a free clinic serving uninsured and underinsured people in Central Vermont. Services include primary medical, oral health, and mental health care, as well as bodywork and case management.

The VYT-PHWC Outreach & Development VISTA evaluates, develops, and implements community outreach and development initiatives. The member collaborates with staff, volunteers, and community partners to understand the healthcare landscape in central VT and create outreach and development plans.

The member coordinates public relations and development efforts. The member reviews and updates existing systems, as well as creates and implements sustainable tools.

The member’s outreach and engagement plan includes development of the PHWC website & social media platforms and creation of e-newsletters and print materials.

The member’s development activities include investigation of existing and new funding streams; creation and implementation of a plan that includes grants, fundraising campaigns, and events; donor acknowledgment.

The member may also be involved in volunteer recruitment, training, and recognition.
