The Associate Director of Development (ADoD) is a member of the New York Division Development Team who is a key member of the Adirondack Chapter team located in Keene Valley, NY. They work closely with the Adirondack Chapter Director and Adirondack staff to implement and coordinate effective multi-year strategies and plans for gift prospects, including corporate, foundation, and/or individual donors. This position has a special focus on funding conservation programs of the Adirondack Chapter, and supports conservation strategies across the State of New York, as well as nationally and internationally.

We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in sales or fundraising, who wants to make a difference for nature and people. Working with a dynamic and ambitious team across the state, the Associate Director of Development will play an integral part in the success of our mission by building a portfolio of qualified donors and developing impactful relationships. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, influential, and diplomatic when navigating across geographies, departments, and organizational levels. The position reports to the New York Deputy Director of Philanthropy with a dotted line to the Adirondack Chapter Director.
  
The ideal candidate will have a background and track record that includes: 
·       Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination.
·       Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents.
·       Experience in asking for and closing gifts of $25,000 or more.
·       Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
·       Experience working with cross-functional teams.
·       Demonstrated experience using listening, diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships and motivate donors and volunteers.
