Internship - Automation Process Technician

Description

Under the guidance and teaching of a mentor, participants will consolidate and centralize pertinent Command information tools on an existing SharePoint site. This is an excellent opportunity to hone this highly marketable skill! If you are familiar with Google Drive, WordPress, or just have a passion for coding; this paid research internship is for you. The selected candidate will assist with multiple efforts to include, but not limited to: development of new SharePoint tools, updates to existing SharePoint tools, and conversion of tools from MS Office. The participant will apply basic coding skills to real world problems in a military setting. If you have skills with HTML code, CSS, jQuery, and JavaScript, then you would be a great fit on our team! As the research participant, you will research, collect, and analyze data on how USAEC programs progress from start to finish; develop requirements for SharePoint tools; and create the necessary tools. You will work with a collaborative multi-disciplinary team.

Appointment Length
This appointment is a twelve month research appointment, with the possibility to be renewed for additional research periods. Appointments may be extended depending on funding availability, project assignment, program rules, and availability of the participant.

Participant Benefits
Participants will receive a stipend to be determined by USAEC. Stipends are typically based on the participant’s academic standing, discipline, experience, and research facility location. Other benefits may include the following:

Nature of Appointment
The participant will not enter into an employee/employer relationship with ORISE, ORAU, DOD, or any other office or agency. Instead, the participant will be affiliated with ORISE for the administration of the appointment through the ORISE appointment letter and Terms of Appointment.

Additional Information
While participants will not enter into an employment relationship with DOD or any other agency, this opportunity will require a suitability investigation/background investigation. Any offer made is considered tentative pending favorable outcome of the investigation.

Qualifications
Best candidates will be motivated individuals with strong technical, organizational, communication, and research skills. Must be currently pursing or have received a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree.
  • Preferred candidates will have experience or be willing to learn the various SharePoint offerings, including Designer, Server, Foundation and Nintex workflows.
  • Candidate should have a high level of familiarity with Microsoft products, such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and lnfoPath, as well as Microsoft's programming languages in addition to HTML code, CSS, jQuery, and JavaScript.
