Environmental Health & Safety Business Partner

In support of assigned division and/or departments, implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal Environmental, Health and Safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes EHS recommendations accordingly. Ensures compliance with all EHS regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Interfaces with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. Is required to provide support to multiple sites and/or multiple shifts. Depending on job assigned may be focused more specifically in environmental or safety area.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Plays a leadership role to ensure a safe work environment for employees, contractors and visitors to the site or sites where assigned which includes various/multiple shift environments.
  • Acts as internal EHS consultant to assigned groups, shifts, departments and/or divisions providing leadership, guidance and advice on a wide range of EHS topics. Maintains presence in operations to ensure open communication with all employees.
  • Ensures effective and timely training programs, ensuring compliance with all internal and external regulations and compliance. Assists in development of new training programs, identifies and trains subject matter experts to deliver training, and delivers training personally.
  • Develops and performs program audits to ensure compliance with Company policy and related regulations (e.g. LOTO, Crane/Hoist, Confined Space, Electrical, etc.)
  • Schedules all required industrial hygiene testing and training and maintains records and documentation (e.g. Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, etc.).
  • Plans monthly meetings including preparation of presentations, metrics and other communications to the Committee. Works closely with managers to meet with employees to discuss EHS concerns and proactively communicate safety information.
  • Supports STOP initiatives for site.
  • Develops annual Risk Assessment Plan, coordinates required team support, and performs risk assessments and implements required corrective action.
  • Works with Contractor Coordinators & Risk Management to ensure hazard assessments and orientation for all contractors are performed timely.
  • Ensures timely reporting of and investigations into all work related incidents and ensures corrective action has been identified and implemented. 
  • Prepares, analyzes and communicates Metrics and Weak Point Analysis with employees and management. Participates in Asaichi meetings. Tracks and ensures closure of all corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 5 or more years of EHS experience are required. Experience working in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Certification(s) related to EHS are preferred (for example OSHA 10 or 30 Hour Course Certificate, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager Certification, etc.)
