Beijing Innovation Center integrates global advanced agricultural technologies of molecular biology, plant pathology, cell biology and bioassay to support seeds and crop protection product development and pesticide resistance management.
Beijing Innovation Center is commissioned as a knowledge centre with deep scientific expertise, broad spectrum tools and robust capabilities for research and development. Partnering with Syngenta global business, it establishes an innovative and differentiating biotech pipeline to deliver market-driven products.

About This Job:
Syngenta Beijing Innovation Centre is seeking motivated individual as member of Editing Traits team. The person will be the key member to accomplish the research objectives through:
- Providing technical expertise and knowledge to improve crop disease resistance
- Designing, implementing experiments to identify gene candidates and evaluate efficacy in greenhouse and field as well
- Actively interacting with scientists within Beijing Center and other function units to meet critical milestones
- Maintaining accurate experimental records according to Syngenta policies with outstanding attention to detail.
- Performing all activities in compliance with Syngenta HSE guidelines
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Experienced in identification of plant host targets and investigation of the mechanism of plant-microbe interactions by using modern biochemical, cell biological and genetic approaches
- Experienced in major genome editing approaches, bioinformatics approaches and major crops diseases control (e.g. bacteria, fungi or virus disease) preferred
- Experienced in experimental design to understand the plant-microbe interactions under experimental conditions in the lab, greenhouse and field
- Experienced with state of the art instruments that measures the plant growth development and assesses pathogenicity of pathogens and as well as biochemical and metabolic characteristics
Qualifications:
- PhD and with 2+ years’ experience in plant pathology or physiology or related fields in dissection of the molecular mechanism of plant diseases with a proven record of success in the form of publications and/or patents
- Able to use statistical software to conduct statistical analysis and as well as standard office software
- Proven Project Management skills and Good communication Skills
- Excellent analytical and Presentation Skills.
- Flexible in handling new job assignments and achieving results in a rapidly changing work environment
- Highly motivated, results oriented, and a good team player,
- Proficient in both written & Oral English
