IT Controls Analyst I or II

We are looking for an IT Controls Analyst I or II in Madison, WI. This role will:
  • Supports technology compliance and control standards across the technology portfolio.
  • Provides planning, requirements definition, analysis, technology and business process design, development, implementation, operation, and enhancement of technology systems related to IT compliance and controls.
  • Evaluates risks in design and document controls, coordinates with internal and external audit teams.
This position is a non-bargaining position and requires a resume.

Join a team dedicated to protecting Alliant Energy’s electrical and natural gas critical infrastructure.  As part of our Cybersecurity Operational Technology (OT) Governance and Controls team you will be working to ensure that proper controls and documentation are in place to protect Alliant Energy’s portion of the energy grid as well as follow all relevant NERC CIP (critical infrastructure protection) requirements. This role will initially focus on those NERC CIP Bulk Electric System (BES) requirements but will provide opportunities for growth into other areas as you grow into this role. This position is available at our corporate headquarters in Madison, WI.

This position does have shared on-call responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities :
  • Gains a working knowledge for complying with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and North American Electric Reliability
  • Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP) regulations.
  • Works with business and information technology (IT) leadership to assist in developing and implementing controls that support business objectives.
  • Works with business groups to understand how technology is used to assess whether systems should be included within the scope of required regulations and controls.
  • Stays current with, and notifies stakeholders of, changes in regulatory or compliance guidelines (SOX, NERC/CIP, PII, etc.).
  • Assists with developing and implementing security awareness/compliance training and education programs.
  • Assists with designing and implementing automated systems, procedures, and methods required for compliance.

Additional Accountabilities
  • Completes special projects or assignments as requested. Participates on department and/or cross-functional teams to complete special projects or assignments as requested.
  • Participates in 24x7 on call rotation.
Job Qualifications :

Education and Experience Requirements:
Analyst I:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science Required.
  • In the absence of a degree, 4 years of related experience is required.
Analyst II:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science Required.
  • 2 years of related experience with 1 year in information security, IT audit, IT compliance or closely related area.
  • In the absence of a degree, 6 years of related experience is required.
Preferred Experience:
  • Certification Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA) or similar certification Preferred
  • Exposure to information technology regulations such as PCI, Privacy, SOX, or NERC CIP a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment.
