Business and Finance Internship

Job Title: Business and Finance Internship
Location: Coraopolis, PA
Reports To: Director of Project Services
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary
The Business and Finance internship will have the opportunity to take part of real world business activities. This position will be part of the Project Services Department and will be working alongside leaders and various areas in our accounting and operations departments. Projects will vary and will include researching old records and developing reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Compiles and sorts documents, such as Cost Reports, Financial Records, Invoices and Project Documents including substantiating business transactions.
Scans documents into inventory system.
Audits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and develop reports
Extracts financial data from projects and track several data points.
Compiles cost reports and revenue and balance sheets.
Other Skills and Abilities
Must be able to legally work in the United States.
Must be willing to work in a drug-free environment and agree to a post offer drug test.
Must be willing to work safely and keep OSHA recordable incidents to a minimum.
Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and specialty bridge design software; must be proficient with MS Office.
Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively plan and organize to meet project deadlines.

Education and/or Experience 
Currently pursuing a Business and or Finance Degree
Language Skills         
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write emails, business correspondence, and mailings. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills    
Individual should some level of business acumen, including knowledge of spreadsheets and expenses, profit, etc. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel software and Word-Processing software, reporting tools related to databases. Must have the ability to learn how to read and interpret cost reports.
