Software Engineering Summit in partnership with Women in Tech

What to Expect

We are excited to partner with our Women in Tech Business Resource Group to present the Richmond Software Engineering Summit! During this one-week program, a small, exceptional group of freshmen and sophomores will be immersed in our startup-minded and innovative culture while exploring and developing the technology and problem-solving skills valued by today’s top employers. If chosen for this highly selective program, you’ll take part in technical and soft-skill training sessions—examples from previous Summits include iOS, Android, Voice Driven Applications, AWS, M.E.A.N. Stack, Hardware, Front End Design and more. The week wraps up with a rigorous hackathon and presentation to Capital One leadership and includes some awesome fun events along the way.

Location

Held at our Richmond, Virginia office the Summit is an awesome opportunity to network with Capital One engineers and other students from top colleges and universities. Capital One will be responsible for all participant travel and accommodations—your job is to learn, challenge yourself, and code side-by-side with our talented engineers!

Preferred Qualifications

- 3.0 GPA or higher Technical and/or quantitative major, including Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, etc. 

- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, conceptual skills and coding ability 

- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills

-    Graduation dates: December 2020 through August 2022 

Select semi-finalists will be invited to complete a MindSumo coding challenge in June, 2019.
