Visually Impaired Community Associate

We are an MIT-based startup, developing an AI assistant for the blind and the visually impaired. We have a team of entrepreneurs, AI researchers, and designers. We believe AI should be used to enrich human life, not to oppress or replace them and we believe AI will enable the next generation of assistive technologies.

We are currently in the development phase of our technology. We care a lot about hearing our users' feedback during the development process. That's why, we are building a user community of people with blindness and visual impairment to check in about the questions we have about our product and hear their guidance on what we should focus on.

We are looking for an unpaid intern to help us manage this community. This includes, but is not limited to, growing the user community, managing our regular engagements (e.g. emails), interviewing users on the phone, relaying information between our engineering team and our community, researching about our UX issues, and coordinating focus groups and user testing sessions.

We are looking for someone, who:
  • Is a great communicator and has good writing, research, and interviewing skills
  • Can be both professional and warm
  • Has great work ethic, meets deadlines, and is self-motivated and a great team player
  • Very very passionate about helping people with disabilities
  • Wants to work at a startup environment
