Internship - Event Management

Description

The Event Management Intern is responsible for assisting Jetzy’s management in all event planning and executing tasks. By working in the Marketing department as an Events Intern, this position provides an excellent opportunity to learn firsthand how to plan and implement events and manage logistics. This internship is an opportunity that will help you gain experience working in a fast-paced tech startup/social media company and increase hands-on experience in its operations.

Preparation for the event will include working with a graphic artist on the event logo, creating a marketing plan & budget for the event, creating a Facebook presence centered around the event, set up online event registration, marketing for participants, writing press releases on the event, and obtain event permits.

Responsibilities

-Assist management with scheduling and venue selection functions
-Develop and contribute to events and public relations activities
-Interact with vendor/partners to carry out event
-Create, schedule and share event advertisement
-Ensure all vendor payments are made on time
-Coordinate with news media as assigned, in the development of appropriate news stories
-Coordinate with Sponsors, Performers, DJs, Speakers
-Assist in event setup
-Share event photos on different platforms

Requirements

-Excellent communication skills in written, oral, and social media
-Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods
-Strong computer skills and a basic understanding of the Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and social media
-Creativity, ambition, and a strong work ethic
-Strong organizational skills
-Ability to work independently and in a team environment
-Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and act with a sense of urgency
-Superior problem-solving skills must be resourceful and creative with solutions
