Sr Corporate Accountant

Basic Function: The Senior Corporate Accountant will provide accounting and financial reporting support for the corporate office. This includes understanding and assisting with the management of the general ledger, accounting issues, external audit process, detail analysis and presentation of financial data, preparation and recording of journal entries, preparation and review of monthly account reconciliations, cash management, preparation of quarterly and annual reporting to bondholders and other similar activities or ad hoc requests.

Essential Duties:
  • Assist with month, quarter and year-end close processes
  • Assist with monthly spending variance analysis, including research, documentation and communication of spending variances
  • Work as a partner with corporate department managers to understand their spending commitments and adherence to budget
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Prepare assigned monthly account reconciliations
  • Assist in the daily maintenance of the corporate general ledger to ensure accuracy and consistency with Company policy and compliance with GAAP
  • Prepare and submit required bank reporting (borrowing base calculation, quarterly bank financials).
  • Review and facilitate applications for letters of credit and bonds
  • Responsible for short-term borrowing
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reporting to bondholders (10-Q and 10-K)
  • Prepare and post quarterly and annual financial press releases and press releases related to organizational changes
  • Prepare earnings conference call scripts
  • Prepare quarterly board of advisors reports
  • Administration of the Company’s insurance program
  • Flexibility to work on special projects and unexpected events while completing routine tasks on a timely basis
  • Apply intellect, creativity, adaptability, judgment, and management skills to achieve required results
  • Ensure duties and company projects are accomplished in an efficient and cost effective manner
  • Support peers and management with internal and external projects
  • Ensure adherence to Company policy and procedure
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned

Education: Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting or finance required; CPA preferred.

Experience: Five years of experience preferred, with accounting, audit, financial reporting, treasury or related field.
