Corporate Relations Coordinator

POSITION: Corporate Relations Coordinator
TEAM: Development
REPORTS TO: Assistant Director, Corporate Relations

SUMMARY
The corporate relations coordinator reports to the assistant director, corporate relations and works closely with both assistant directors and the director, corporate relations to successfully meet the corporate fundraising goals of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:         
  • Work with the director to help develop and enhance the team’s prospecting model including performing research on private sector partners and prospects, helping identify linkages between corporate interests and Council priorities, and coordinating meetings for members of the corporate relations team
  • Prepare background briefs and meeting materials for the director, assistant directors, and Council leadership, and assist with corporate partner proposals
  • Support meetings and call time sessions for the director and senior staff, including assisting in developing talking points, drafting call sheets, and coordinating follow up
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date corporate records in Salesforce, assist with developing engagement plans, track touch points, and create impact reports for donors
  • Reconcile pledges with the accounting department and support the renewal process by drafting invoices, acknowledgment letters, and other necessary paperwork and correspondence
  • Draft the monthly corporate email update for corporate constituents that highlights opportunities, event invitations, and business relevant research/analyses
  • Support assistant director in the management of the corporate relations intern(s) including selection, training, and supervision
  • Provide administrative support for the corporate relations team
  • Attend and support Council events including some evening and early morning hours; provide additional support at other Council events approximately 3 – 4 times monthly (registration, ushering, etc.)
  • Occasionally assist at the front desk to relieve the Reception and Office Coordinator in meeting/greeting Council constituents and handling incoming calls.
  • Perform other projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1+ years’ relevant experience, preferably in a nonprofit/membership organization; corporate or inside sales experience a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent spelling, grammar, and editing skills
  • Keen attention to detail, self-starter, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
  • Research background and creative thought process
  • Excellent computer skills, including extensive knowledge of and experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and database systems, especially Salesforce
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team; willingness to help out and provide leadership as needed on projects in the development team
  • Ability and willingness to work evening and early morning programs
