The participant will also develop the skills necessary to access information from a variety of international open sources on larger, long-term health threats to our population and develop the skills necessary to analyze these data and communicate them effectively to our beneficiary populations. Under the guidance of a mentor, the participant will develop the ability to produce public messaging products about specific health risks such as smoking or vaccine-preventable diseases. The participant may participate in targeted public health surveillance activities, such as determining the risk of specific health outcomes or illnesses in our beneficiary population. The participant will actively participate in the sections' weekly hour-long educational activity in which a lecture is provided by a member of the PHCE staff or guest speaker on a topic of Public Health interest.
