Economic Empowerment Programs Support

SCOPE OF POSITION:
This is a dynamic position working across all Economic Empowerment and Financial Opportunities programs to assist the Economic Empowerment Manager in data quality and compliance reviews, reporting, and administration. This position will learn core components of all early employment and career pathways programming to support compliance reviews utilizing IRC’s online database, physical casefiles, and supportive service reports. Additionally, in conjunction with program staff, this position will create pre/post assessment learning surveys on core training topics taught during client-facing workshops. As needed, the position will also have the opportunity to create data visualizations, draft process oriented training guides and checklists, and work on special capacity building projects, such as Women’s Economic Empowerment materials, research for grants, and other projects as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • Assist the manager in program administration & quality reviews  
  • Complete Compliance reviews utilizing IRC online databases, physical case files, and supportive services report  
  • Update, reconcile, and maintain databases and excel reporting workbooks 
  • Support pre-monitoring preparations, administration, reporting, and data entry  
  • Create and conducts surveys and monitoring & evaluation, including supporting data visualization  
  • Create how-to guides on process-oriented tasks, as needed 
 
REQUIREMENTS:  
  • Confident and comfortable working with MS Office suite and online databases with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to analyze and synthesize large data sets 
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with excellent, succinct written and verbal communication 
  • Demonstrated experience as an executive assistant, or role with comparable functions 
 
This position reports to the Economic Empowerment Manager.
  • This is an unpaid internship.
  • Work related driving is eligible for reimbursement at the IRS Charitable Rate. 
  • Internships are available for current college students starting in their second year, graduate students, and graduates less than 2 years post-graduation. Course credit is available if the student coordinates with their university and confirms the appropriate paperwork with the Volunteer Coordinator.

COMMITMENT:
Hours per week: 15-30 hours per week, during IRC's regular business hours of 9 am-5 pm, M - F
Duration: 4-6 months, or 240 hours
IRC is committed to working with student schedules. As such, we are flexible with accommodating time off for midterms and school holidays, and altering time availability with changing class schedules.
