Los Angeles Editorial Intern Fall 2019
Modern Luxury is seeking a super-organized, detail-oriented multitasker to provide administrative, strategic and editorial support to the Angeleno, Los Angeles Confidential & Interiors California editors-in-chief, essentially doing whatever it takes to keep their offices running smoothly:
Must be a college student with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; very strong organizational, issue-resolution, and decision-making skills; sound judgment and discretion (need to handle confidential material); and impeccable speaking ability and strong writing skills. Prior experience with administrative duties during the course of an internship at a magazine or in another related field is preferred.
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of Adobe InCopy system is helpful.
Key Tasks:
- Work directly with Editor-in-chief
- Writing online and in-book content with supervision of editorial department for magazine
- Organizing and coordinating photos for magazines
- Proofreading articles and special sections
- Organizing interviews such as “Source” section interviews and other magazine features
- Conducting research on current and upcoming events and personalities for future print articles
- Coordinating key deliverables to meet editorial and production deadlines
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain calendar
- Field phone calls and take accurate messages
- Make and update travel arrangements
- Assist the managing editor in scheduling of status meetings
- Attend special events
- Mail out issues
- Other duties as assigned (research and reporting for stories; assisting with photo shoot planning and execution; pitching and writing stories)
