Requirements:

  • Acts as liaison between child care providers, families, and community resources for inclusion and special needs services
  • Attend initial IEP meetings, periodic IEP Input and Annual IEP meetings
  • Maintain appropriate records and paperwork
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all shared verbal and written information gathered
  • Ability to effectively communicate with parents/guardians, other therapeutic support professionals, and administrators
  • Demonstrate compliance with state-mandated training requirements
  • Ensure all services are performed in accordance with state laws and regulations
  • Current Behavior Specialist license/certification
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year College or University in Early Childhood Education (certification in early childhood special needs), child development, special education or related field.
  • Knowledge of Behavior Modification principles and experience in ABA, specifically DTT, PRT, and Verbal Behavior methodologies are preferred
  • Previous experience with preschool populations (children three to five years of age) with intellectual disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders is required
