Long Island Housing Partnership, Inc. (LIHP) is a nonprofit organization created to address the need for and to provide affordable housing opportunities on Long Island for those who are unable to afford homes, through development, technical assistance, mortgage counseling, homebuyer education and lending programs.

LIHP has immediate openings for program assistants to help with various programs.

Primary duties will include assisting program managers with:

  • Establishing and maintaining client files
  • Collection and review of client information necessary for assessing program eligibility
  • Follow up with clients to ensure documentation is complete and up-to-date
  • Responding to requests for information on various programs
  • Drafting and sending client and other correspondence
  • Updating status reports on progress of programs
  • Assist in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the programs
  • Providing research, data analysis, and reports on the programs
  • Other activities as assigned
Required skills and experience:
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel spreadsheets, and data entry)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to follow through on tasks, and track and meet specific timelines
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as on a team
  • Two to three years of previous general office experience
  • Bi-lingual a plus

Salary is commensurate upon experience.
