JOB PURPOSE:
Assist in the installation and maintenance of Midco’s cable ad insertion systems.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
  • Participate in the installation and maintenance of Midco Cable Ad Sales (CAS) network, and actively support various groups by helping to resolve escalated problems.
  • Encode, monitor, and upload video files to the CAS system.
  • Participate in the network management and maintenance of insertion equipment, encoders, routers, switches, production equipment, etc.
  • Ensure that the network is secure.
  • Plan for future capacity and execute related action plans.
  • Assist Management in the budgeting process by providing new concepts, justification, and documentation.
  • Work with vendors to assist in design, installation, and trouble shooting.
  • Provide project leadership, including diagramming, reporting, documenting, time management, etc.
  • Ensure availability of and test viable disaster recovery and back up plans for all systems.
  • Oversee the development of system utilities and tools.
  • Manage assigned projects successfully and effectively, and coordinate efforts between multiple groups.
  • Provide effective “on call” support and be prepared to work other than regular business hours as necessary.
  • Communicate and maintain up-to-date, accurate documentation for passwords, diagrams, security, etc.
  • Be willing and able to travel in accordance with Midco’s “Use of Vehicle for Company Business” policy.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers.
  • Adhere to Midco’s privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Effectively communicate with other departments to handle any escalating issues in a timely manner.
  • Compile timely, comprehensive, and accurate reports as requested.
  • Mentor new hires and existing staff as required.
  • Function as an effective team member while supporting the efforts and concepts of other departments.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Previous network experience in the telecommunications field preferred.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of various Cable Advertising Sales network systems and components.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 70 lbs.
  • In-person visits to a customer’s place of business are normal in the performance of this job. Specific abilities required include accessing a customer's place of business by stairs or elevator, operating doors or other entrances, navigating hallways and buildings, etc., and adapting successfully to a constantly changing environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
  • Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
